Its About that time….

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Its about that time of year when I get a little older than I was a full year ago and my sister does the same thing only 2 minutes earlier. You know I can tell she is older then me. Mainly because she is older then me.

Anyways before any of this happens it is St. Patties day. One of my favorite holidays because I get to pinch so many people on their bums usually know as a butt. Yep so if you are not wearing green in the TT tomorrow look out you may get goosed by me. So I guess that leaves webcore and probably a few others in the clear. Everyone else I hope you find something green. Actually I am just kidding. I don’t like 2 ride 1 handed on my TT bike.

Yep so we are here in about central California at the Quad Knof where we will be pedaling a long way, flipping a U-e, and heading back into town all in the smog (which has a definition of brown fog that tends to make great sunsets )and by ourselves for about 18miles.

Now what do I think about on such a long TT. Faster. I wonder how fast everyone else is going. faster. Crap I hit a pot hole. Its only been 2 minutes and 5 seconds. Crap another pot hole.sweet almost 2 the top of the hill. That downhill was sweet i hope the next one is faster. Where is the turn around? Go faster legs. Hum. sweet the turn around. Wowy I am glad the wheels didn’t pop when I skidded around that cone. Then a bunch of other stuff like Go fight win. Stand up sit down fight fight fight.

Then the next day we will be traveling in more of a circle witout a 180 degree turn leaning to the right and left and back again for about an hour.

What do I think about in a crit? left left left oh right left and left. K here we go again….

So don’t forget your green tomorrow and your shoes!

Have a good day!

Ps… I don’t know how to post the jumping frog from my phone so he gets a break

On a long straight road…

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

jumpfrog.gifOn a long straight road… Theres only one thing to do but go staight until it(being the road) turns right AND that is just what a lot of us did today in Fresno, Cali California. But we did this mostly in the almost laying down position with the wind blowing in our face while pedaling as fast as our little or big legs would take us. Actually it (the TT position) is more like when you fell asleep at school and layed your head down on your desk. Of course this never happened to me… And Christine in fact WON… which means she slept through a lot of her Docter classes… JUST KIDDING, totally kidding. But it kinda reminds me of that particular position. And in fact the wooden chairs where about as comfortable as my saddle…

Anyways, in the womens race down the long staight road with one right hand turn Christine won, Dotsie was second and Kathyrn was thrid… great job girls!!!

Now yesterday we road up and then down down down and down some more for a bit AND then did that all over again to the finish line. A break with Mara Abbott (webcor), Stacy Marple (Tipco) Kristin Lasasso (Lipton) Alison Powers (Colavita) Felicia Gomez (Aarons) Kim Anderson( Tmobile) and me as in Chrissy (Cheerwine) got away but with only 4 or us working (being Kim, Alison, Felicia, and myself) we didn’t gain much time and got caught with about 1km to go after we eventually started attacking each other. AND Kelly was third after almost moc speeds were exceeded in the sprint to Raymond where Tina won and Brooke was second…

Tomorrow is the crit where we will go around in circles but not any type of circle… I think a youngster designed the course because there is a 180 degree turn in it… Instead of a T-shirt designing or coloring competition they had them(being someone) draw a circle and decided which one was the coolest looking circle… the most artistic I think won!

So to train I have been riding up and down the block in San Fran. I found a super steep hill to simulate the termendous speeds we will be traveling at tomorrow afternoon. I have a pretty good skid down as I stopped at the base of the steep hill to simulate the stop before the 180…
I hope everyone else has been practicing too so they aren’t caught off guard by my extreme skidding in the 180 degree corner followed by my standing stop to moving sprint….

Alright, I am going to go do something cool because it is pretty hot outside…

See you at the circle race tomorrow if you are going…

:)Still Me as in Chrissy

ps… if you are not going that is really a bummer because on a Sunny Sunday it will be Sweet

psss….. Oh yes, it is also Daylight saving time which means we lose an hour so tomorrow at this time it won’t actually be this time…

Ka boom

Wow e zowie I didn’t realize I was going to have to fit bumpper cars into my training schedule. But really I have to say I don’t mind the addition because I love fairs. In fact if you (me in this case) get lucky during the summer you can find water bumpper cars. Those are the best.
Anyway today was the first fearsome NRC circular race of the year in sunny cali CA where the crashes seemed loud and the speeds seemed fast. In the end Brooke Miller won and lots of girls finished behind her. No really I think something like 100 girls started and a lot also finished.
So yep I think if others also add bumpper car practice there will be less crashes which would be sweet. I think atleast.
Tomorrow is a road race that is sure to be exciting so leave your books;game boys and dirty (aka… Dusty) magazines at home.
See you put there;

:)Chrissy

Ps. I don’t have a computer so now my phone is my compute.
